Abacus Montessori is a non-denominational cosmopolitan school in Toronto that offers the widely acclaimed Montessori curriculum to children. Our mandate at Abacus is to offer our students an academic program that arouses their natural curiosity, compels them to question, and challenges their intellectual abilities – ultimately instilling a lifelong love of learning.
By directing children through a meticulously prepared environment, our well-trained and qualified teachers build fundamental skills by encouraging strong work habits, critical thinking, problem solving, and self-help skills. Our key to success is ensuring our children learn in a nurturing and non-competitive atmosphere.
We pride ourselves on a curriculum that embraces the best of classical Montessori training with the benefit of modern teaching tools. For instance, at the elementary level, our Montessori program is juxtaposed with the Ontario elementary curriculum and development of fundamental technology skillsets. This is all done with an aim to tap our students’ immense potential and simultaneously prepare them for the fast-paced world of the 21st century.
Founded in December 2003, the school offers a Pre Casa program (for children between 18 and 30 months old) and a Casa program (for children from 2 and a half to 6 years old). Our Elementary section (Grade 1 to 5) is home to both new students as well as Casa graduates looking to build beyond the solid academic foundation they gained with us in their most formative years. Abacus Montessori is also pleased to offer exciting summer camps during July and August.
